On May 28, Nintendo and Lego unveiled a new Legend of Zelda set based on the franchise’s iconic Great Deku Tree. The new Lego set, out later this year, features two different versions of the famous old tree, as well as a Zelda minifig and three different versions of Link.
The Lego Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 set (77092) contains 2500 pieces and will launch on September 1, 2024. It will retail for $300 and, as mentioned, contains four minifigs: A young and adult Link from Ocarina of Time, as well as Link and Zelda as they appeared in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
Rumors have been floating around about the Great Deku Tree Lego Set existing ever since it popped up in a survey back in February 2023. Nintendo practically confirmed the then-unannounced Deku Tree set was real when they reportedly issued a copyright strike against a YouTube channel covering the leaked details. But even before those leaks, Nintendo and Lego fans have been wanting a Legend of Zelda set for years. In 2022, Lego had to tell fans to stop submitting Zelda-themed sets to the company’s Ideas website—a place where people can upload their own ideas for new sets that could become real one day.
When Nintendo announced Mario sets and later Animal Crossing sets, many fans were hopeful that the publisher would finally give them a Legend of Zelda-inspired set. Well, your long wait is over, Zelda nerds and Lego geeks.
After being officially announced on Tuesday by Nintendo’s social media accounts, The Great Deku Tree set went live on Lego’s website. And that means we now have a bunch of gorgeous images of the massive Legend of Zelda Lego set to look over until September.
