Finding out how to get Units in Marvel Rivals is a surprisingly difficult task. The game doesn’t outright tell you how to earn them anywhere. And, when you do earn them, it’s hard to tell where they’re coming from. However, this galactic currency will be very important in-game.
Units are the main currency in Marvel Rivals, and cannot be purchased directly. They’re used to purchase cosmetics in the store. Since all the playable characters are free, this is all you’ll be purchasing in game. Here are the four main ways you can earn Units!
Completing the Battle Pass
The Battle Pass in Marvel Rivals is one of the easiest ways to earn Units. There’s some on the free Battle Pass too, though the premium Luxury Battle Pass does offer more. For Season 0, there are 200 Units to gain for free, and 100 extra in the paid version.
Converting Lattice into Units
While you can’t purchase Units themselves, you can convert the paid currency, Lattice, into Units. To do this, move your cursor to the symbol for Units and select it. Here, you’ll get a menu that will let you convert Lattice to Units in increments of 100. The conversion rate is 1:1, so 100 Lattice equals 100 Units.
Completing missions
Missions are another way to earn Units. These consist of various tasks that you can do in-game.
Achievements
You can find these by selecting your player icon in the top right corner and navigating to “Achievements” in the top menu. In the Heroic Journey set, you’ll earn points that accumulate and allow you to gain Units. These achievements focus on specific feats to accomplish as a given hero. For example, one of these achievements is to get 3 KOs with a single use of Magik’s Ultimate, Darkchild. These achievements are a great opportunity to learn new characters while gaining Units.
Entangled Moments
You can find these missions by going to “Season” on the main menu, then selecting the missions submenu. These contain quite specific tasks that will grant Chrono Tokens (the battle pass currency) or Units. The objectives listed here are quite specific, requiring certain team-ups, map conditions, or hero choices. Coordinate with friends to help make the grind for these missions easier.
While earning Units is a bit of a grind, it’s actually somewhat feasible to eventually buy cosmetics without spending a dime. Or, you can shell out some bucks for Lattice to get right to it. No matter what your method is, hopefully you can get the Units to get a great skin for your favorite character!
