If you’re as Pokémon TCG Pocket-pilled as I am, you’re desperate for new cards to collect and new events to battle through. Fortunately, it sounds like players won’t have to wait too much longer for either one, at least according to the latest datamined leaks coming out of the mobile card game.
Players have recently found new details on a Venusaur event coming at the end of November (via The Gamer). Similar to the Lapras ex drop event that just ended, the Venusaur one will feature new battles and promo cards. It’ll begin November 29 and run through December 16, with players able to earn new card art variants of Venusaur, Greninja, Haunter, Onix, and Jigglypuff.
But that’s not all. There’s also a Bulbasaur + Magnemite Wonder Pick Event kicking off the following week that runs from December 6 through December 20. Similar to the Chansey + Meowth Wonder Pick Event, it’ll feature promo cards for Bulbasaur and Magnemite, the art for the latter of which old-timers will remember from the Team Rocket set that originally arrived back in 2000.
Store refreshes and new events always go live in Pokémon TCG Pocket on Fridays, and dataminers also point to a few other updates due in the game before the end of the month. Some sort of “Black Friday” sale event is expected to get underway on November 22, alongside a fire-type Mass Outbreak event focusing on Arcanine. In the meantime, players have until November 28 to finish grinding out their Genetic Apex Emblem Event battles against one another. It’s a slog but I’m too far in to quit at this point.
A bigger update to Pokémon TCG Pocket isn’t expected to arrive until next year. The development team behind the game previously confirmed that trading will finally arrive by January 2025, with new features are card sets arriving after that as well.
